There are 3 steps to complete:
Step 1 - Generate an API Key in Mailchimp
Step 2 - Setting up Client Manager as a Registered App in Mailchimp
Step 3 - Enter Mailchimp Access Details into Client Manager
Step 1 - Generate an API Key in Mailchimp
Log in to MailChimp.
Click on your Profile Icon, then click on Profile:
Go to Extras > API Keys:
Scroll down to Your API keys and click on Create A Key:
Your new API key is now ready to use!
feel free to add a Label (name it Client Manager) and make sure the Status is active:
Before we jump onto the next step, please copy the API key text and paste it somewhere accessible like your Notepad (we will need this for the next step).
Step 2 - Setting up Client Manager as a Registered App in Mailchimp
Scroll back up and click Extras > Registered apps:
Click on Register An App (will look like the below or a stand-alone button if you have other apps registered already):
Fill in the details as per the below:
- App name: Client Manager
- App description: Client Manager
- Company/Organisation: Client Manager
- App website: www.openmarkets.com.au
- (Temporary) Redirect URL: https://redirect.ccube.com.au/DocuSignRedirect/MailChimpCallBack
Then click Create.
Your application has been created and the Client ID and Client secret will auto-generate as per the below example:
Before you proceed any further, we need to provide you with your personalised Redirect URL. Please email your Client ID to cmsupport@openmarkets.com.au and we will get back to you with your permanent Redirect URL.
Once received, please go back to your Mailchimp login and replace the temporary Redirect URL with your new permanent one.
Click Update.
Please copy both your Client ID and Client secret details for the next step.
Step 3 - Enter Mailchimp Access Details into Client Manager
Go to your Client Manager site and navigate to Settings > Integrations.
On the top right-hand corner, select the User dial.
Inside the Mailchimp box, click Configure:
Add the API Key, Client ID and Client Secret details from Mailchimp (Steps 1 and 2 of this article), and select Save:
Then click Enable:
Then click Test:
At this stage, a new tab will open.
You may be triggered by Mailchimp to log in and authorise Client Manager with or without Two-Factor Authentication (as per below screenshots):
Once logged in, you will need to click Allow to Authorize Client Manager:
Your tab will then close and you should now be back on the Integrations page in Client Manager.
If not, go back to Client Manager > Settings > Integrations and click Test for Mailchimp again.
You will get a "Connection established successfully." pop-up message at the top of your screen.
Mailchimp is now configured and ready to be used!
