What is the difference - Class vs Status
- Class: is designed to reflect relevant segmentation of your clients, such as Gold, Platinum, AAA, etc
- Marketing Status: is designed to reflect the current 'Status' of the client such as an Active, Archived, Cancelled or Deceased Client
Class
As mentioned above, a Class is used for client segmentation for differing levels of service, and possibly Service Packages.
By default, you will see the follow Class options included in your site:
- Platinum
- Gold
- Silver
- Bronze
Marketing Status
As mentioned above, Marketing Status allows you to record a client's current 'Status' with the business.
Default options that you will see for this field:
- Cancelled - cancelled clients do not show up in searches by default and must be actively filtered to find results - it is best to mark cancelled/opted-out clients or prospects/leads that did not convert to a status of 'Cancelled'
- Deceased - deceased clients will still show up in searches, so you will need to exclude these individuals when doing bulk communications
- Do not mail - these are clients who have specifically opted out of receiving marketing material, but who are still active clients - you need to keep an eye on this field if you are using MailChimp to manage client communications to ensure that you are complying with relevant legislation
- Existing - existing clients are clients that are active and actively being engaged with
- Prospect - leads/prospects can be interacted with in the same way as 'Existing'/Active clients, however, marking them in this way enables you to target those specific individuals/entities
